WHAT SPECIALIZED SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?: I specialize heavily in areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, and general mental wellness. Other areas I have a wealth of experience with over the years of practicing general psychotherapy are coping skills, life transitions, chronic pain, driving anxiety, phobias, family conflict, relationship problems, codependency, racial identity, self-esteem, survivors of sex abuse, as well as faith-based integrations into psychotherapy if requested/appropriate (i.e., with clients who come from a churched background or other religious groups)

I work largely with young adults and adults. I also have experience working with children from the age of 6 and up as well as the elderly. My office does have an elevator in the building and can accommodate those who are differently-abled or require the use of a mobility device.

I offer special claims and services to those who have been in a motor vehicle accident (MVA), as I have access to “HCAI billing” services. I am also registered with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) to make claims, as I have access to “Bluecross/Medevie” billing services. I am also trained as a psychometrist to conduct psychoeducational assessments in partnership with a registered psychologist if you would like you or your child to be tested for learning/developmental/intellectual disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured, time-limited, problem-focused and goal oriented form of psychotherapy. CBT helps people learn to identify, question and change how their thoughts, attitudes and beliefs relate to the emotional and behavioural reactions that cause them difficulty.

EMDR Therapy

If you’re looking for an innovative therapy, one that gets beyond just talking about your problems, and a therapy that breaks the pattern of feeling emotionally stuck, EMDR may be for you!

EMDR stands for “Eye Movement Reprocessing Desensitization”, and it is an evidenced-based practice that helps relieve trauma stored in the mind and body from previous experiences that may be currently impacting you.

Cost: I find that rates for psychotherapy in the KW range from about $100 - $160 before applicable taxes. My standard fee is $132.74 + HST (which is an even $150) for a 45-50 minute session, which includes a 10-15 minute period of notetaking, prep, and research that I do each time for your session before and after your visit.

Location: My office is in Suite 305 at 1601 River Road East in Chicopee Park Centre (in the 2-story building attached to the 1-storey general ground-level plaza). There is accessible parking and an elevator in my building for those using mobility devices. You can enter the doors in the corner of the plaza, just to the right of the Dentist’s office. Come up the elevator or stairs to the top floor, turn right, and I am in Suite 305. As of July 2018, I also have also expanded into downtown Kitchener and I now have an office space in near Queen & King for a more downtown experience.
